राजस्थान की राजधानी और हिंदुस्तान की पिंकी सिटी जयपुर अपने राजवाड़ी रहन-सहन के लिये दुनिया में मशहूर है. इस शहर का इतिहास जितना पुराना है, उतना ही रोचक भी. कहते हैं कि जयपुर को पिंक सिटी इसलिये कहा जाता है, क्योंकि 1876 में महाराज सवाई रामसिंह ने इंग्लैंड की महारानी एलिजाबेथ और प्रिंस ऑफ़ वेल्स युवराज अल्बर्ट के स्वागत में पूरा शहर गुलाबी रंग से सजवा दिया था. बस तभी से लोग इसे गुलाबी शहर कह कर बुलाने लगे.

आज भी इस शहर के कोने-कोन में शाही अंदाज़ और रजवाड़ों के रहन-सहन की झलक साफ़ देखी जा सकती है. सोचिये अगर आज भी शहर की वो चमक बरकरार है, तो राजा-महाराजाओं के समय में जयपुर की शान ही कुछ और होगी. अब बीते कल में हम कैसे जायें. इसीलिये सदियों पुरानी कुछ दुर्लभ फ़ोटोज़ उठा लाये हैं. देख कर उस दौर का आनंद ले सकते हैं.
